About 5 years or so ago, when the gang was all still
living in Sydney, we lost a dear dear friend to the hustle and bustle of NYC. She
had moved there to complete some of the final stages in her art studies.
Whilst not only completing her masters in Contemporary Art
at Christies and making friends with the coolest cats in town (one being Laura, one of my
regular Paris visitors) Sophie and another of the cats I just mentioned, Mary,
have just opened their very own brand spanking new gallery. Garis & Hahn.
I’ve been following its every move on facebook (almost in a
stalkerish way) since it was announced a few weeks ago and I have to say, the
gallery looks great, the show looks great, and well I’ve always thought that
everything Garis or Hahn related was pretty damn great.
If you are a NYC liver inner or just there for a little
vacation I URGE you to head down to their inaugural show tonight, After the
Fall. If I haven’t convinced you enough you can read further info here here here here here AND also...Here from a
bunch of people who have been in and interviewed the brains behind this new
great space.
Right about now (well when its time to head to the opening)
its time to hail that yellow cab, jump on that subway, ride that bus or just
drop anything and run past that free hugs man all the way to the Bowery.
Well done Mary Garis and Sophie Hahn. Ima headed your way as
soon as humanly possible.
